David’s interest in photography began when he helped his father build a darkroom in the old coal closet in their basement in Rochester, NY. Years later, the purchase of his first DSLR led him to eventually meet and shoot with Marc Muench and Andy Williams, and ultimately start Muench Workshops with them.
A graduate of the Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University, David moved out to Los Angeles in 1986 to begin his career in motion picture advertising as a trailer editor. He has received several awards for his work in advertising, including trailers and TV spots for Inception, The Dark Knight, The Hobbit, Dunkirk and much more. After 30+ years in the film advertising business, David has hung up his splicer and taken to the field to work full time with Muench Workshops, leading workshops and building back-end systems that make the business hum.
